Clipper for Issuu

Issuu has a new feature - it now allows you to clip a section of the articles, and facilitates the sharing of these clips. I think I'll try it out!

Travel Photography

I think I've found just what I need - a video class on travel photography. I was doing the class assignment (compare VIMEO and YouTube channels), and I discovered the DSLR channel on VIMEO. Somehow the topic that most interests me was right at the top: travel photography. It looks like the show was shot in 2010, but I'm sure the principles remain the same. SO - I will definitely subscribe. For starters, here is the introductory show: http://vimeo.com/channels/photographyschool/90687500

JVC Everio Camcorders

Like many Americans, I'm a Costco shopper. And, as I've written recently, I'm in the market for a new camcorder. SO - I'm choosing the easy-way-to-go: I'm relying on Costco to select the top choices for me. Currently the local Costco has two camcorders on sale: the JVC GZ-R10 EVERIO and the Panasonic V550. Not knowing which one I'd prefer, I bought both. Now the chore is to select which one to keep, and which one to take back.

The EVERIO has a series of videos that are very enticing. The following playlist of videos begins with the 2014 introduction to the JVC QuadProof camcorders. Be careful though; the playlist has 87 videos! So, here goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SE0DpKETP0&list=UUvy9t1QZYYP07h5e_FTvbYg&feature=share

Stocks Farm Video

I'm a sucker for farms. I grew up on the mythology of Dad's farm in Kansas. We visited every summer, and I absolutely LOVED the times we spent there. I even momentarily owned a 1/3 of a 1/2 share of a farm after Dad died (before brother #2 asked us to sell our shares to the cousin who farmed it). SO, naturally when exploring videos on VIMEO's Documentaries channel, I chose to view this one, on Stocks Farm Foods. It's a great little video! The sound is good, the visuals are excellent, and it makes me want to visit its Facebook page(or the farm itself!). Film link: http://vimeo.com/channels/documentaryfilm/52457735

Stocks Farm - How We Started from Christopher Hughes on Vimeo

.

I also liked the fact that the filmmaker included this information about his film:

Shot on Stocks Farm in Suffolk and at Stoke Newington Farmers Market using a Canon 5D mk2 and a Canon 7D, sound was recorded using Sennheiser wireless Lav into a Zoom H4N

Why does that interest me? It's very simple: I too have a Zoom H4N! I love knowing that I have equipment equivalent to what's online. And, I have suggestions now for what next to explore - a Sennheiser wireless Lav!
