Headphones Part III
Well, it turns out I don't like the headphones I bought at all. They are stiff, uncomfortable, and don't fold neatly for traveling (though they DO have a strong case to protect them). SO - it's back to the store they go. I'll go to the Guitar Center and try some out. Probably the one in SF, though I did like the one in San Mateo.

Camera Simulation
I'm going to see if I can embed this "Camera Simulator" on my blog. If so, it will allow us to simulate controlling a camera's settings. The problem for me is that the viewing is too big on my little laptop. SOURCE: http://camerasim.com/apps/camera-simulator/
Well, it doesn't work. By decreasing the frame size (from 550x570 to 400x425) does not show all of the image and controls. So how do I see the whole screen on an 11-inch netbook?!! VERY frustrating...

Headphones Part II
Well, it turns out I purchased the predecessor to the ATH-ANC9: the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b, for $99 from Staples. The price was discounted, and that's probably because they're the out-dated model. iMovie 2014
Mavericks made a significant change in the current version of iMovie. This means that most of the old video tutorials on iMovie are not as helpful as they used to be. It's actually been hard to find good videos on the latest version, but this next one qualifies as worth-the-time-it-takes-to-watch-it. Screen Recording with QuickTime
One way to create a video for the web is to use the QuickTime player's record function. Here's a short video on how to do that on a Mac. The good news is that all the equipment needed is already on the Mac. Just open the application, adjust the audio settings if need be, and press "Record". Give it a try!

Headphones
I purchased new headphones a couple weeks ago, but haven't opened the package yet. To tell the truth, I'm not sure I bought the right kind of headphones for editing audio and video. I got a "deal" at Staples, with $100 off the Audio-Technica Noise-Cancelling Headphones. So, I'm interested now in reading and watching the reviews, to see whether it's worth opening up the package. Video Converters
I've heard for years from Cousin Steve about HandBrake. My question is this - Do I need it? What does it do? Well, I've finally progressed enough in my audio/video "career" to finally understand what it is. Amongst other things, it is a video converter.
