I ran into considerable trouble trying to move the background audio in my final project video seperately from the video portion. In fact, I failed to get the video clip to remain under 2 minutes, as required. So, I'm doing the Monday morning quarterback's review: What could I have done differently? Here's one of the videos I came across that may or may not help. The problem, for me, is that the latest iMovie for Mavericks does not look or act the way the instructional videos show! Nevertheless, I'll study it, and see if I can come up with a solution. Here then is "Working with Audio - The Basics":
